OS map Grid Refs gone!!

Is there a good reason why the new Club Sites Directory is not showing OS Grid Refs?

Surely I can't be the only member who still likes to see exactly where I will be towing to?

Google Maps sometimes does not show the CL / field clearly. A pinpoint location with the OS map sorts that out. Or rather, it did.

A black mark for the CL dept at the Club. Could do better.

I would have thought location information was originally supplied by the CL owners but do agree there should be some form of method of making corrections to these where they are obviously in error. If I find serious errors I usually email the Club, minor ones I might just note it in a review.

I've just checked it on GoogleEarth and the second is about 140 metres to the east in a field. Either entered into a car satnav would get you on the lane to the CL.

I'll do that peedee, as the two locations are many mile apart and on different OS maps.

Coming a bit late to this discussion (haven't used any new CLs for a couple of years) but just to say I completely agree with you, willbee.  I've emailed the Club for a copy of the OS Grid Refs and to ask for them to be put back into the next edition of the Sites Directory.  Hopefully in future the Club will ask members for their opinions on proposed changes such as these.

Does the above help rather than giving the Club more work and costs at a time when income is very low.

Works ok on my tablet Steve. You have the OS digital maps and should not need help.wink

It is pretty useless whilst hosted on CMC forum. If you share and e-mail a copy it works fine in Chrome when you click on the e-mailed link. Not something that I need however

Thanks peedee for that online map of sites, it's excellent.  Did you put it together yourself or is it out there somewhere in the public domain?

The OS Grid Refs are still useful though - I hope they'll be reintroduced in the next edition.  They are presumably still present on the Club's database so it shouldn't involve too much work.
