The Missing Sock CL site at Stow-Cum-Quy are giving priority to Wedding Party geusts (Non Members) and often exceeding the 5 unit limit. I wonder how common this practice is around the country.

The Caravan Club did at one time issue annual window stickers similar to the site plaques, which identified current members and were lovingly displayed en-mass in the windows of many mambers' vans.

Now we get a worthless sticker every five years.  Bah!

I don't like stickers ..... either on my caravan or car Cool

You won't be going anywhere near a country that requires a vignette the MM

Hi Vicmallows and others.   Regarding asking the Club whether CL owners can sign non-members up out of office hours etc.

Yes, I have brought this up at a number of meetings I have had at East Grinstead HQ.  I have been assured that it is 'being considered' but as usual, the Club like to take its time over such matters.

I have another meeting later this month and will be pushing the case (again).  The debate here on CT might assist..

My guess it wllbe little like trying to keep the tide out. Have you seen any changes in procedure within the club in the last 20 years. No. Its a case of the tea drinkers liking things as they are with no use of grey matter or seeing the changes within the industry. Dont rock the boat seems to be the mantra, my £90K+ salary is OK

our favourite Cornish CL turns none member visitors away regularly. I am sure they would like to be able to sign up new members and benefit from filling some empty pitches at short notice. Can't understand why the Club doesn't just get on with this, surely a win win scenario for all concerned, shouldn't be too difficult to administer surely in 21st century?

The annoying thing is CLs used to be issued forms from the CC to enable visitors to join. It was probably 15 to 20 years ago, well before the digital age, but for some reason they stopped it.

That long ago one had to have a seconder who was a member if you wanted to join. Those at HO couldn't have a CL owner signing up any old so and so, oh no!! Not the done thing!!Wink
