Monthly CL Opened List

In a few other discussions it has been asked if there is a way to see what new sites have opened recently.

All new CL sites are published in the monthly magazines, but these can appear a couple of months after the site has been opened.

I thought that it would be beneficial for all members and CL owners if we posted a list once a month of all CL sites opened the previous month.

We do already have the following discussion board for New CL owners to advertise their sites here, and I would encourage new CL owners to continue to post on that discussion as well.

I hope this will be of some use for you all.

Thanks

Maddie (and the CL team)

That could explain it, Nellie. I think you stayed at Morven View last year, didn’t you? I remember spotting the signs on the way to and from Gills Bay.

C&CC list 3 types of changes to CSs - closed, new and amendments. They would have shown the site as having new owners in the list of amendments which would do away with confusion.

It wasn't Morven View we stopped at, it was Firth View, which overlooks the Pentland Firth. Morven View is about 4 miles from the coast heading south from Castletown to Wick.

Ah, my mistake. The location of Thurso shown for Morven View is a little confusing. undecided

Mea Culpa - Haven't kept up to date with new and old listings since we returned from abroad at the end of June, so I was pleased to see that the club has decided to allow listing of closed sites. Thank you for your input Maddie in bringing this about and also for being more pro-active than most of your colleagues. It is appreciated.

I think that it has to do with the post code. I would think that it's midway between Thurso & Wick. There's no heading for Wick in the site Directory either.

It's all well and good WN, and a lot more than we were getting before, but there's still no sign of them posting the reasons for closure, as they used to do in En Route, which would be of a great help.

I don’t think Morven View is new, is it?

The listing shows 2016 prices. I’m confused.

Hi Tinwheeler,

Morven View had closed earlier in the year and now reopened - it is still run by the existing owners.

Thanks

Maddie

Thanks for the update, Maddie.

Just a couple of small points..... shouldn't The Harp Inn be listed under Letterston rather than Haverfordwest, and Meadow Cottage be under Wincanton rather than Yoevil?

Hi Nellie

Thank you for your message, you were correct about Meadow Cottage, I have amended. I believe The Harp Inn is meant to be in Haverfordwest. It is a different department who identifies the Listing town so I will double check with them and get back to you.

Thanks

Maddie

Maddie despite taking over an existing CL that has been here for years the CAMC decided to treat us as a new site.  You advertised on the website that we were not taking bookings (without our knowledge) which has caused a few no shows and loss of income as customers thought it had closed.  We have not to our knowledge been featured as 'a new CL'  are we going to benefit from any promotional help at all?  What is the agreed official level of promotion for site like ours?  https://www.facebook.com/BreakwaterCaravanPark

 Hi BreakwaterCL

I have looked into this and can see you have had an email from Head Office regarding this. I hope this has helped and please feel free to respond to the email if you have any other questions.

Your CL site will be published in the October Magazine as a Change of Certificate Holder.

Thanks

Maddie
