I stayed at Reraig many, many years ago and it was fine. Last time I looked it wouldn’t take bookings.

I suggest Morvich or do a CL search.

We stayed there about 20 years ago, but noticed it was closed down last year, however it now seems to have new owners and has reopened.

As mentioned by Nellie. Reraig near Balmacara,  is in a lovely spot for the Kyle of Lochalsh area. It's a larger site and a bit nearer to Skye for day trips.

Morvich is a nice site, we stopped there for 3 nights this year and for two weeks, with a caravan, in 2016. When we took a very pleasant day trip to the Talisker distillery at Carbost on the Isle of Skye. You pass a large Coop at Kyle of Lochalsh,  very convenient  for resupplying on the way back, as there isn’t much close to the site.

If you're on Skye you can find yourself doing quite a bit of driving for food and fuel, the Kyle of Lochalsh area has much to recommend it as a convenient base for Skye itself.

Wonder if or when the OP will come back and acknowledge the posts and tell us if any were of help?

May be they have found that "the other club" has a nice site on the island or maybe they have realised that the local petrol stations etc like to charge very high prices!

But OP didn't want to stay on the island, hence the suggestions supplied. Wonder where he's disappeared to, though?
