You could try Splash Farm CL near Cromford moonchip. Very nice CL with individual pitches, a good if hilly dog walk adjacent, and lots of other walks close by, along with plenty to do and see. Matlock isn’t far.

This is a review I left on another forum. The pitches are grass, but have plastic underneath so good firm surface. Nice owners. Here’s my review

shouldbe just inside two hours hopefully.

It depends which direction you're wanting to head, and where from. Do you want to be north or south of M/C? What about Sycamore Farm, Nether Aldeley, nr Macclesfield...south of the city and easy to get into there. Plenty of others too, just need more info on the type of site you like and what you expect.

Welltrough Hall Farm CL - all hardstanding but which also has a separate area not part of the CL.  Under Cheshire - No 89 in Site Handbook.  Awesome views in all directions.

2 Hours does rather a large margin. It could be anywhere from North Wales, North Midlands, West Yorkshire or the Lakes. As Nellie says you need to narrow it down a tad.

I would have thought maybe somewhere more than 30 mins away though?

For that price one could stay at the club's Burrs Country Park site. As a single occupant it would only cost you £14:70 pn compared to £20 pn at Welltrough CL, and be a closer to M/C too.

Always worth checking Club Sites if you are a single tourer, especially those with MWD. My OH stayed at Exeter Racecourse for less than £10 per night a couple of years ago.

Price might not matter that much to moonchip and his chum though, might be a nice location with lots of dog friendly stuff to do and see!smile
