Went there a few years ago. We were given a big bag of the most fantastic spuds. Great site.

For that price one could stay at the club's Burrs Country Park site. As a single occupant it would only cost you £14:70 pn compared to £20 pn at Welltrough CL, and be a closer to M/C too.

How about us? Stoney Leach Nurseries (no.813, page 377 in the Directory) is in a quiet, rural setting not for from Junction 27 of the M6.    Open all year and with hard-standing pitches, we charge £13 per night including EHU, awning and dogs.   You can get to Manchester by road, 30.6 miles to the centre.  The nearest train station is 2.5 miles and the trains take about 50 minutes and run about every 30 minutes depending on the time of day  Hope this is helpful, you would both be most welcome to stay here.

I rather got the impression the OP was hoping to drive two hours max from Manchester area, rather than into it. I could be wrong of course.....

laughing yes, well, I see what you mean but doesn't it work both ways? Sort of?  Only I should have advertised the site and what a lot of interesting things there are to do round here shouldn't I? I'll get my coat. laughing

No need to get your coat, I was interested enough to note your CL, we are hoping to do a tour over the Pennines this year, so will be taking a look!laughing As I said I could be wrong indeed. Sorry if it sounded a bit unfriendly, it wasn’t intended that way. Good on you for mentioning your site.👍

Edit: looks a very nice place, interesting location as well. And a nursery, always take a plant or two home from our travels!laughing
