CL Price increases

Has anyone noticed any large increases in CL prices?   I haven’t noticed much this year so far, maybe a pound here or there however, just starting to plan for next summer and have come across a nice looking (but nothing special) CL that I thought looked ideal for us and ticked all the boxes with a price of £16 per night.  This price was advertised on both the new app and the website which I know can be out of date.   Imagine my surprise to our email enquiry of availability and price to hear that the cost was now £25 per night 😳.   It certainly made my eyes water!    I don’t believe any CL is worth that much, but what an increase!   Needless to say, we’ll be going elsewhere.

I used a CL at Monarch lakes, near Boston in September 2019. The standard was high and well worth the money. Nice pub alongside the river a mile or two away. I see that InaD has stayed more recently. If they have kept up maintenance I would happily pay £25

Yes, we stayed there in September 2020, very impressed with it, as per my review.  It was £20 per night then, and according to CAMC website it's still £20.  It was kept extremely clean, and I thought it was definitely worth £20 per night.  For us, the location was also very good.

Hi All

All CL sites are independent businesses, the Club does not get any cut of their profits or nightly rate. The CL Owners choose their own prices and we update our website when the Owner contacts us with their changes in price. Neither the Club or our CL Advisers encourage the CL owners to increase their prices.

We are regularly communicating with CL owners asking them to ensure their details are up to date and to contact us if anything needs amended.

Thanks

Maddie

We've run a CL for over 19 years and I can confirm what Maddie says.

Conspiracy theorists are everywhere I’m afraid. I think if the C&MC did arrempt any level of control CL owners would kick back hard. I doubt many buy into the false narrative👍🏻

To cover ever increasing costs and constrained by the 5 rule prices no doubt have to increase higher than say on a commercial enterprise who have the benefit of scale.
