CL Price increases

Has anyone noticed any large increases in CL prices?   I haven’t noticed much this year so far, maybe a pound here or there however, just starting to plan for next summer and have come across a nice looking (but nothing special) CL that I thought looked ideal for us and ticked all the boxes with a price of £16 per night.  This price was advertised on both the new app and the website which I know can be out of date.   Imagine my surprise to our email enquiry of availability and price to hear that the cost was now £25 per night 😳.   It certainly made my eyes water!    I don’t believe any CL is worth that much, but what an increase!   Needless to say, we’ll be going elsewhere.

I wonder if their customer numbers had declined after the increase?

Possibly, it shocked us but they are still busy now (as expected) and from what ive seen, going forward...Tried to book yesterday but still full into Oct.

perhaps a few customers commented?

we like it so will use it.

I am increasingly  finding members who say that club sites just aren't worth the money, what with all  the rules, and regulations, and that they prefer  C  Ls. Perhaps the club is seeking to close the gap ?

But the club doesn’t control the prices charged by CLs.

We look first for the area we want then try to find the CL.  We are looking for electricity, but not for loo or shower.  Hard standing is good.

We are happy to pay £20 for something more than a field plus tap.  It's good when each pitch has water, or there is clearly more than one tap.

I'm not worried about whether CL has own web site, or indeed if contact only by phone - although e mail is easier.

If there is no pictures, then I am very reliant on other reviews.  If no recent reviews (last couple of years) less likely to book.  But if site was where we wanted, a good look at Google maps might help me.

I dont understand why the web site is not more up to date with prices, although I seem to remember that on another thread someone reported owners failing to get the Club to update their prices.

But I'm convinced that the inspectors have been given indications from HO to suggest what price a CL owner should charge, regardless of what has been stated in the past.

Hmm -  can you imagine club CL inspectors going round to the sites and saying  - for example- 'We are expecting you to charge a minimum of £15 per night' so our club site fees do not seem expensive?

I would be horrified to find out that that was the case.

Hi All

All CL sites are independent businesses, the Club does not get any cut of their profits or nightly rate. The CL Owners choose their own prices and we update our website when the Owner contacts us with their changes in price. Neither the Club or our CL Advisers encourage the CL owners to increase their prices.

We are regularly communicating with CL owners asking them to ensure their details are up to date and to contact us if anything needs amended.

Thanks

Maddie
