Just noticed in 'CL Sites Updates' CC Magazine Sept issue, that New CL,s number 17 Happy and Closurers number 4, an increase of 13.Surprised.  Long may this trend continue as there is a lot of ground to be made up on closures over the past years.

"Dont see where the figures for new Cls come from"...

Earlier post on this thread suggest otherwise.

Dont see where the figures for new Cls come from. Thare has been no new Cl shown on the web here since 1/8/16. With such a long lead in time for printing I onder when the 2 new ones actually opened.

You are both correct. The magazine details appear to be leading the way, but brand new CLs are obviously not getting put onto the website, as I noticed there were none listed after August. Given that the new handbooks won't be issued before February, this is rather letting new CLs down somewhat, especially as a lot of folks will be looking to book for next year now, even if they aren't out and touring yet.

I notice it mentions 100 CL applications pending as well in the magazine, in the feature about the AGM. Let's hope these get their initial set up inspections sorted, and quickly come onto the system.

Seem to be a lot more members now keen to try a CL, and given that almost a quarter of the membership surveyed indicated that CLs are their main reason for joining, the Club needs to make sure they get the help and support they need to get up and running a sap, to help with recouping expenditure.

The new CLs are on the website with all the other CLs so they are getting some publicity prior to the new handbook. However the new CL section has not been updated since August and I understand the reason being that they are waiting for the new website to be released.

We've promised this update for so long now it's getting well beyond a joke. If I had opened a new CL recently I'd be very disappointed with the support from HO with regards to getting the message out to those that I want to attract.

Personally I make a note of all the new CLs that are shown in the magazine, but many members appear to bin it as soon as it arrives. It might be ok for HO to tell new CL owners that they will have their sites "advertised" in the magazine but if only half of those publications are read it certainly reduces the number of members likely see which new sites have opened.

At the end of October there were 2,343 CL's listed on the website.  Today (end of Nov) there are 7 less at 2,336.  As noted elsewhere, no 'new' CL's are listed on the website under the New tab.

The December copy of the magazine mentions 2 new CL's (but no closures) and 2 changes of ownership.

I'm guessing that the Magazine will note these 7 departures next month.

Let's hope the 'pipeline' of 100 new CL's comes to fruition and that they are promoted on the new website, which I hope will go live before Christmas.

Another examole of very poor basic service to members and CL owners. The information was readily available but we are now told its "an upate issue". How come when it was previously on th present service.
