Am I right in thinking that Brokerswood Country Park used to have a small section dedicated to the caravan club?  What happened to it,  I thought it was CL style in terms of a 5 van restriction.

I believe it does (or did) have a CL separate from the main site Catherine. One that we always thought would be good to try forca quick local break, but never got round to it. Maybe try giving them a ring? Happy

Hmm... Just done a search and can't find any mention of it. Definitely a case of ring them I'd say! Happy

Looks like the focus of the park has changed and they no longer allow local visitors in on a day basis like they did.  Such a shame and probably explains why there is no CC section now.

I remember spending a lovely day out there, when the children were young. I can remember thinking it would be a nice place to stay.

Catherine - if you're looking for somewhere local can I suggest Stowford Manor Farm just down the road from you. A very peaceful place down by the river (if you avoid the moto-X events!) , all grass and with basic loo/shower facilities but lovely on a warm weekend. And great cream teas at the farmhouse! Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Looking now, we already have withdrawl symptoms and are looking to go out again in the next couple of weeks before we go to Plough Lane again.

Moulesy any other suggestions?  I'm looking for just 2 nights and somewhere that would allow arrivals up to say 8pm?  I've just looked at the other clubs site at Devizes, my goodness that's very pricey!

Ah, you obviously are too young to qualify for the C&CC's age concession rate then Catherine!

A couple if ideas - right next to the C&CC site at Devizes is the 3 Magpies pub which has a large level caravan field behind the pub. We stayed there some years ago, quite basic and has toilet and, I think, shower facilities.

Near Longleat, there's a site at East Woodlands that we've used before now, full facility site but very quiet, think it's called 3 acres, but will have to go back and check that.

Let me know what you decide! Happy

Edit - just checked, it's at West Woodlands near Frome and is called 7 acres - that's inflation for you! Wink
