Check both car and van weights as the kuga is not a very heavy car and the twin axle bailey may be over the recommend towing ratio.

Many manufacturers will give a 2000kg tow limit on their vehicles which if often higher than the actual weight of the vehicle
And as noted in the latest Mayday/Green flag information
I quote "we. will cover it when the caravan/trailer when loaded and weighs no more than the empty weight of the vehicle towing it

I have towed a twin axle caravan extensively at 96% of the cars (Antara) mass in service.
This included trips through Europe to Northern Italy, down to Provence and in the UK up to the highlands and down to Cornwall.
I wouldn't hesitate to do the same again though I currently tow a lighter 'van with a 2wd 2 litre 150ps Kuga.
As long as you are legal, within manufacturer limits then it is no problem.
Of course you will always find people who don't agree and will tut tut at you for doing so but invariably this will be people who have never done it and slavishly stick to the 85% 'rule', despite that being the one recommended for inexperienced towers.
