Has anyone ever had a worktop satisfactorily replaced? SWMBO decided to break up a bag of ice in the middle of a worktop last night & surprise surprise she's dented  the blasted thing ...... but it apparently wasn't her fault!! 😡😡😡😡

Not a bad idea jennyc but the original surface isn't a shiney smooth surface like Cyberyatch's suggested Formica ... it has a very slightly textured finish.

Well I did say ‘cracked’ and the original post said ‘dented’. Under which circumstances, the function of the expanding foam is to lift the laminate into its original position, prevented from moving further by the glass. As such, the texture in the original laminate face should lie flat with the rest of the surface. The only function of the filler is to fill hairline cracks.

If I hadn’t seen it done before, I wouldn’t have posted the suggestion.

...and I'm very great-full for the suggestion smile The surface is actually cracked as well as dented as the worktop is obviously a hollow construction for weight saving.
