Grey Water Pipes

Hi,

I will be grateful for advice on piping away the grey water to a drain on a super pitch.   I have tried flexible hose but the dips create pressure and slow the flow, what have you found to be the best combination of rigid pipes and corner pieces, dia. and lengths for touring on a variety of pitches.   Many thanks for your help.

Hi

rigid pipes are better but think about storage when travelling? Saying that you could always have rigid pipe in 1 meter lengths with joiners and enough corners to work on any pitch. Then store in a bag in the locker. As long as you have a fall from the van to the drain, could use wooden blocks to prop the pipe?

Cheers

JK

Foa a long time I just used the front end of an old vacuum cleaner hose which used to breakdown into three sections. I later added a a piece of flexible sink drain hose bought at the local plumbers which allowed some flexiblity to go round corners. Worked a treat most of the time. there are lots of ways you can do it, I have even seen smaller sized house guttering used.  I agree rigid pipes are better.

Many thanks to Jolly Kernow and Peedee, I appreciate the thought of a bag to keep the pipes and joints together.   With Covid-19 I guess we are all going to become as self sufficient as possible

Cheers Happy Touring Keep Safe.

This collapsible product is quite good. You can lay it in straight sections and avoid to a large extent the dips you get in the coiled variety. It is not cheap however but packs away neatly into a small bag.

I've been using this for over a year now and find it both effective and convenient to store - unlike the coiled hose or rigid waste pipe. I bought two packs (8m) which covers every eventuality and using the special support pegs means that you can lay it out with a gradual fall on the piping, to aid drainage.

I agree, it is expensive, but on the other hand takes up so little room in the storage bag that it now lives, permanently, in a locker in the van.

Also very good for lengthening the bit that came with our MH to deal with some of the ridiculously positioned CAMC Motorhome waste points.

We use a 3mt length of 32mm rigid pipe that attaches to the outlets and then this slides inside a same length of 42mm pipe with an elbow and if needed a short length of same size.

We have used this on service pitches for a few years after seeing it displayed on another caravan page.

To support the pipe we have a few rock pegs of various lengths with pipe clips bought at Wickes and drilled out to slide onto the rock pegs.

The 2 lengths of pipe obviously slide one into the other and travel upright in the shower with a stop end fitted. We wash the pipe thro before travelling with a good amount of clean water.

This looks a good solution for occasional time when using serviced pitch. I have a Carado motor home. Any idea if I will need the adaptor or can I plug it straight on to my drain without? Thought I'd ask before ordering.
