Tried to get a cylinder today but dealer was unable to provide as apparently stocks are low again and also the rumour is that they are being discontinued. Anybody else heard this?

There seems to be a recall notice on older cylinders which may account for the short supply.

From the Calor website.

"Product recall
We have issued a product recall on all 6kg CalorLite manufactured between 2008-2011 inclusive. For further information visit"

I got one yesterday from a gas dealer by swapping in a heavyweight one that I had to take during the previous shortage.

Since the recall I have been more successful in obtaining a replacement Calor Lite at campsites rather than Calor retailers. Last year I was told the same thing about them being phased out however I am sure I read somewhere that someone from Calor had denied this but I can't remember where I saw it.

The lite is 50% lighter than the steel 6kg bottle
