I was planning to stay at the Crystal Place site as a base for visiting London by public transport. I found, quite by chance, a potential problem regarding the Low Emission Zone . My pre-2002 camper is diesel-engined and based on the Fiat Ducato 14 with a gross weight of 3.2 tonnes. It looks as though this isn't approved for the LEZ, and that a fee of £100 per day would be made (via number-plate recognition). A solution would apparenty be to have a particulate filter fitted to the exhaust (the London Transport websites suggests costs from around £2000). Alternatively, you would have to get a new van! I'd be interested to know if anyone else has come across this problem, and if you have found a cheaper solution to those mentioned above.
Many thanks, Tony P
