It's Wednesday and I'm inside my motorhome with dog and wife escaping the wild torrential rain we are curently having here at Slimbridge. Looks like we'll be in here for a few hours watching Jeremy Kyle with our expresso coffe machine working hard. My water proof has given up being waterproof and my shorty wellies don't even want to go outside..

So could somebody remind me why I bought a motorhome? frown Alternatively if it's sunny where you are let me know and I'll boot up the sat nav and move....laughing

Hardy souls would drive off into the rain somewhere and say it was wonderful. wink

I never believe them! Sometimes I like an excuse to do nothing.

cool You bought a motorhome to have the independence of locations .Move on if you don't like the park up.you've all your comforts and belongings around you (no trapesing back and throw to car/C/van) It's all under one roof ..When you move to site see ,no return journey eating up juice, just pastures new.You take your luxuries with you on board ,not leave them at home (or behind in C/van) No hooking up on towbars, lighting cables, swaying 'van behind you ,extention mirrors, blind spots, reversing performances, hours of putting up the ubiquitous awning and getting it away before it gets rained on !! Restricting towing speeds ,Use the M/home at/on a whim to do a snatched week-end,it's all loaded ready for you.

On my fourth M/home now ,,love it !!wink.

We had Motor caravans(as per V5) for 7yrs then realised that without an additional vehicle we were missing so much,  we now tow our size for size much bigger C/van and a go almost any where transport at our destinationcoolwinkinnocent

Are we to name all vehicles as stated in their V5s, JV?

What a pain! I can no longer say 'car' but must say 'Petrol Car' or 'Diesel Car'.

D'you know what? I'm going to stick with 'MH' and 'car' as I'm sure all sensible people will. Try it - you might find it catches on. cool

Gave up on the UK many years ago. Can't see any pleasure in sitting in a van or Motorhome in the rain. I'd rather be in a hotel.
