Looking for a mobile tyre fitting service to replace my single axle tyres at home.

Size 195/70R15C.

Notts Area

I read up that the C means commercial tyre, so they are heavier loading than car tyres and different structure side walls with less flex.

Recommendations please, as the car tyre sites arent that clear. Who do you Caravanners recomend.

Remember to check the load rating on the present tyres.

I used National Tyres, but have a trolley jack so removed them and took them to the fitting bay. Not sure whether National do mobile fitting

Seem to recall C&MC used to have some offer for mobile fitting with one of the national companies but cant remeber which - Kwik Fit or ATS I think

I had a new tyre fitted at ATS as they were willing to deal with the tyron bands.

Kwik Fit would not do them in the depot but I have heard that Kwik Fit mobile fitters will do them.

Yes, as above they are C rated (Commercial Light Vehicle). The rating is 102, so OK.

looking for mobile fitters, as not messing about with jacks and running around.

I've used e -tyres for both caravan and car in the past.Find them very good for price and they come to you.Give them a call tell them what you want and they will give you a price.

Another vote for e-tyres. They changed our van tyres on the drive a couple of years back. Turned up exactly on time, changed tyres, checked torquing, took old tyres away and a very reasonable price.

Only downside is that you'll never stop getting emails from them! surprised

I just phoned two local tyre dealers - gave them the size and details - asked for prices to fit at home - both were willing to come out .  I chose one of them.

Not much good to the OP unless they're willing to go up to Nottingham though! wink

I've used Kwik Fit mobile service in the past as was very impressed with them.  Changed all four tyres on my wife's car in about half an hour and the whole process was video-recorded by a camera in his van for everyone's reassurance.

Was a bit miffed, recently when I asked our local garage to come and replace a tyre on our new van which had a puncture which couldn't be repaired - despite the fact they get most of our business with two cars and they are only five minutes away, they charged me an additional £30 for each trip to remove and re-fit the tyre.

We used e tyres who came to the storage site and replaced them without us having to move the caravan. They were prompt and competitive and we were more than happy.
