Tried to used this facility to see if a Mitsubishi DX4 was a match for my caravan, but it only came up with the electric engine model. Not much use when I was looking for the diesel version. Has anyone else found out a similar problem?

Write your comments here...Just tried and there was no DX4 there was it the ASX range if so got the diesel option.

SELL, the DX4 is one of the Outlander models. The only one listed is the PHEV. Sorry I should have said this in my OP.Embarassed

Write your comments here...Just checked again and you are right, the years section miss out 2015, 2014 models show diesel and electric how strange. Would the year 2014 give you a idea if your caravan was a suitable match

Have just tried again when selected diesel and manual transmission no matches but put in auto transmission and came up with 3 choices.

If you know your cars kerb weight and its towing limit there should be no problem calculating if a caravan is a suitable match. Possibly useful for beginners but after that we can work it out for ourselves.

If you look at the match "app" it shows 4 different aspects that they consider to ensure that the match between car and caravan is suitable, not just the Kerbweights.

I worked and there is a good match. Just noticed that the manual version is just 10kg less than the automatic so the matches still are good.

I di cover the cars kerb weight and towing capacity. There are three other factors on the site, gross train weight which unless you have a french car should be in order ( I know there can ba a problem there with certtin ones), nose weight ratio which gives advice but where they get the nose weight from I do not know and BHP per ton. The last one might tell you your car will not be a ball of fire, but if it is within the towing capacity should ensure it can do the job.
