Grave thoughts

I picked up the magazine from the doormat to include with the other trash on my way out to the recycle bin this morning and it didn't cheer me to see an enclosed flyer staring at me from within the plastic bag telling me I should be making funeral plans.

Proof, if needed, of the predominanty geratric membership. Undecided

I was disapointed to read in the mag. this month that the Rowntree Park wardens came in for abuse because the site was on high flood alert and being evacuated. Was it by club members and have they been suitably warned about their behaviour?

Given that the production of the magazine must have a cost factor to the club; then a total of twelve of them and their saved postage must amount to an identifiable sum over the 12 month period.  So why cannot the club deduct, say 80% of that figure from your annual membership?Winking

it's simple , if you don't want to read the throw it in the bin and shut up about it Undecided

but now you can opt out , so that's the end of itHappy

Husky, Agreed but you are missing my point!  If you opt out there must be a saving to the club that you should share in.

TF, sorry my reply was to the OP ( didn't make it clear )

But would it give a saving on membership ? , the club may loose out on advertising revenue if they don't circulate the mag to a certain number of members , so by sending out the mag they are guaranteeing the circulation for the advertisers , but obviously they can't make members read it

The bumbf goes in the recycling bin.  Also, when at the supermarket and I buy the TV Times, I first empty all the loose leaflets into the designated bin that the supermarket has in the magazine areaHappy

If it goes straight in the bin not sure why you even looked at the flyers. This post has been done before. I am afraid if you do not like the magazine bin it and leave the rest of us who do like it to read it in peace.

A look round any site though will tell you the average age is higher than the public in general. Still the advert helps the clubs finances so who cares who it is from.

If I didn't have the mag, what would I read while waiting to collect the grandchildren from school? Books are just 'too' engrossing.

Thanks for that.  I have just opened the package.  I had used to app to download the magazine so didn't see the rally supplement.   Maybe it should be along with other supplement be downloadable, like the magazine is.   Or is that to radical a suggestion?
