Club Site TV Booster

During our first visit to Bolton Abbey site we noticed that the TV Booster used an Analog signal which ourAvtex L187DRS TV couldn't pick up. I understand that as a result of Analog being replaced by digital, new TV's are not being fitted with Analog tuners.

Does anyone know if Club Site TV Boosters all use Analog signals?

We just tune in to the  freeview option  our tv on all the sites we have used on that have the boosters so i take it they are digital,as when i have forgotten and used analogue it will not tune in

Haven't stayed at BA but as far as I know all site systems use the freeview digital signal. I thought analogue signal had been completely discontinued?

When we stayed at crossways a few weeks ago I plugged in to the TV bollard ,but the TV would only tune in to BBC 1 and BBC2 , Our TV has built in free view ,not sure wether that's all you get or my set is faulty ?, but I didn't affect our holiday

Analogue TV signals ended in 2012.......so not sure how anyone thinks that they are still receiving them.

Didn't someone post awhile back that there are still a few sites that have Analog? something to do with the site has a main antenna then it re-distributes it as analog to the bollardsUndecided not quite sure of the technical facts but something along those lines.

As long as the sites in question make it known to vistors, so that no-one spends useless time trying to get digital signals from the bollard. Surely the Club should spend some of its profit upgrading these defunct systems, who are they supposed to be for ? Analogue tuners in TVs have gone the way of Milk in bottles delivered to your door. Please keep up CC !

I tried the booster bollard system once (maybe twice) and to be honest, didn't have much success.

We now check before we go which masts 'feed' the location we are visiting, their direction relative to the site, and whether they are H or V signals -- then tale a compass (or use the smartphone app) and tune accordingly

Never a problem since

It  seems the OP is correct. At least according to the site details leaflet. Extract below:-

TV reception

TV reception on site is poor. Site has a TV booster system in place, giving out a analogue signal, receiving 12 channels.

Not a lot of good unless you have an older TV, which had two tuners as standard, for a time.
