Hang on, have I just read the expression "ardent supporters" of the CC from two completely different posters? Are they so unsure of their point of view that they have to belittle other with condescending expressins like that?

Surely "this is a friendly forum and such comments are not welcome"!!!  Laughing smley.i

...and the accusations of 'trolling' arent belittling? (2 posters on the previous page)

customers are entitled to express their disappointment with a product, especially when it was delivered late, in a poor state, untested and wont be fixed for ages.....

yes, its a forum, as we all know, but it says something about CC....or in fact any supplier that delivers something like this.....they dont really care about who its intended for, they would have tested it thoroughly if they did.

imagine how folk would react if their new caraven were delivered late, in a poor state, untested and wouldnt be fixed for ages....

yes, thats a caravan and this is a forum, but the CC doesnt deliver caravans, in addition to its sites network and other services, it (supposedly) delivers IT solutions to support its business and to engage and assist its customers.....

not sure that its really hit the spot with this one.....

BB, with respect, that post would have been better posted completely separately rather than as a reply to my post since I have never used, nor condoned the use of, the word trolling!

What is clear, to me, and its a purely personal opinion, is that the constant repetitive carping about the club and, in particular, this forum, is starting to resurrect the sort of bad feeling seen so often in the early days of CT's previous incarnation.

All very sad, I think.

M, i didnt mention you either, i specifically said where these posters posted..

i replied to you because you mentioned 'ardent supporters' (not said by me) as being belittling and condecending.....

hardly, when comparing with 'trolling' which is a pretty serious accusation on a forum....

'with respect', you cant have it both ways....

Ever heard of "irony" BB?

My final sentence was a word for word quote of one of the posters who used the, in my opinion, rather patronising expression I referred to!

I don't want things both ways - I'd prefer it if all posts were respectful and avoided explicit or, even worse, implicit insults. As I said just now, it simply leads to the sort of bad feeling we used to see in the early days of CT, possibly before you joined. Take my word for it, it wasn't pleasant!

I am an Ardent Supporter of Scottish Rugby, The Scottish landscapes  and The Scottish people. I do not consider that as Patronising. In fact I am proud to be those things.

You can call me an ardent supporter any time you like and I would treat it as a compliment.

Cheers...........................K

Ah, thank you for clearing that up, K. You were using that expression in an entirely complimentary way. That's good and I wish eveyone was so clearly and unequivocally respectful of those with the opposite view to their own.

Well done you! Smiley smiley.

why should a debate about any subject lead to a return to the bad old days?...although i confess i dont know what these are....

arent we just discussing the merits or otherwise of an aspect of the club, like sites, prices, dogs, children, adults only, early arrivals etc, etc?

i wonder if its the fact that the club is receiving a lot of criticism in this particular area that seems to raise passions in some quarters....

there are threads/areas that i dont get involved with as it can only lead to conflict as opinion is so obviously polarised.

perhaps, for those who think this might be one of those areas, taking a break (generally or specifically this area) might remove some of the 'passion'?

That's surprising K, you called yourself non-partisan re Scottish Rugby on another thread, now you're an ardent supporter of Scottish Rugby-odd. You should be driven by principles not what suits you at that moment, that or take up Politicswink. Happy to help.

Why does an ardent supporter of the CC feel that it's insulting or patronising to be called an ardent supporter of the CC? undecided

How strange.......
