As this has been discussed many times and this post will be locked to stopped any comments.

Yes you can book a year in advance but this still stops people booking a a whole week (7 days) due to the weekend bookings. The problem is not going to go away until something is done about the weekend blocking. I suggest that the club takes a look at the amount of weekend bookings. I notice that there are discounts for midweek booking so this surely must show that CMC must be loosing out on revenue do to weekend blocking.

I know the situation there and it was me who reported the fire that may delay things further but an hard standing is quite easy to spot and the entire grass area was out of use.  I was told by the warden when I asked for a move that the site was full and have no reason to disbelieve  that he had bookings,  however about 10 stood empty. Why I dont know but I have better things to do my time than hang around the wardens office inquiring why they were empty so I will leave it to those who do that sort of thingwink

No way should we have a deposit booking system,

Whyever not? Most other holiday accommodations and caravan sites require a deposit when one makes a booking. I'm sure that it will eventually come to happen for CC sites too.

It will just be going back to what used to happen years ago, I can clearly recall sending off cheques to Club. Think it was £5 per holiday at the time, it just got taken off your overall total, nothing worrying about it. Deposits won’t bother us either.

The club stopped taking deposits as they found this worked better for members. If there is a deposit and they cannot make it for any reason many member s just took the hit and did not contact the club or site. With no deposit these people seem more willing to ring and cancel so allowing the resale of more pitches.

I suppose what goes around comes around and deposits might come back but who knows.
