Renewing membership

Today I got a letter reminding me to renew my membership as I had forgotten.  It came the address to renew as www.camc.com/renew.  However this link take you to the Login page.  Fair enough.

I then logged in and inputted the above address and again it took me to the Login page????  Eventually I did a search and found how to renew and the address was definitely not the one above.

Why do the CC give out CAMC addresses that do not work.  I know that this also applies to some other addresses found in the magazine where they use www.camc.com/.

works ok for me, yes link takes you to your log in page, so you log in which takes you to your account details, select renew membership now and hey presto, mine gave me a warning that my membership was not up for renewal undecided

I agree with your post as I did manage to renew using the www.caravanclub.co.uk and not the www.camc.com as advised in the letter.

Why can't they use the correct address instead of the camc address??

Why not have an auto renew then you won't forget.

The only way to renew membership (if you are not on automatic renewal) is by going into Your Profile.  In order to do that, you must first log in.  There wouldn't be any way that the club could send you a link which would take you directly to Your Profile that I can see.

We weren't on automatic renewal either, due to change of creditcard, but we did get a reminder letter about a month before the renewal date, so I renewed a few days after receiving that.  Things like that are easy to forget, so better to do straight away.

I find automatic renewal by Direct Debit works for me. No need to worry about renewal dates on credit cards. I think I would know when I wanted to stop my membership but I could otherwise forget that I needed to renew if it wasn't automatic.

And if I remember correctly when we joined some years if you paid by Direct Debit they waived the joining fee

I think that every one seems to be missing the point or not understanding my first post?

The question is WHY do the CC give you an incorrect website address in their snail mail sent to members?

I have absolutely zero intention of doing DD for auto renewal. Although it did not happen with the CC been caught once with auto renew and never again!  Happy to do a standing order.

Clicking the link takes me to my profile page where I am asked to log on, even though already logged on. Reason is simple. On the profile page you can view bookings and other things using links there. This appears on there.

My membership

Renew your membership, switch to direct debit, join or renew a centre, take advantage of a range of offers available exclusively to members and find out how to make the most of your Club Membership.

Clicking on 'My membership' link takes you to renewal page.

I think it's as inaD stated above. If you can only renew from your profile, there isn't anyway the CC can sent you a direct link. All they can do is send one that takes you to the log in screen, as you need to be logged on to access your profile. What they could do is list the process better. Perhaps a few bullet points.

When I logged on after following the above link it did not just take me to the forum - it took me directly to my profile page after I had logged on. Seemed to work.
