Membership Fee Increase

The club magazine arrived today. So far I've had a quite flick through 😉. Tucked in there is notice of an increase in membership fees from £49 to £51 on 15 December 2017. If you want to add family members (is that children?) another £8 no increase for 4th year running.

Have just rejoined the friendly club, with paper magazines and site book £44 - less £38 for digital.

That's quite a big difference between the 2 clubs 😲. I suppose the cost of name change and subsequent signs etc has to be recouped through membership fees as well as pitch increases?

We will continue to belong while CL use suits us, there isn't a club site in our county.....

The new membership advert now says £51 as per the OP's quote.

That's a lot of money for an annual discount card. Giving the customer Options would be much better

The Friendly Club gives their customers an option of a "full fat" Postal discount card-- OR -- an Electronic discount card at a reduced rate.

The CMC could do no better that follow the forward looking lead set by the Friendly Club. .

cool

If I don't like the offer then I don't buy. I like the offer

Its  not so much the price but the misconception that "its a club" for the members. Its nothing more than a profit making company stuffed with highly paid staff more interested in their "empire" than us the subscribers.

Ps, which includes 12 magazines a year that are not just thrown in the bin as "sometimes" a bit of important info is sneaked in. or was,  which  not so much now as the Marketing Director does not think it important to advise the members as well as the commercial publications which may pay a "fee"undecided

Similarly, I have just had my M/H insurance renewal from the Club.

No claims in the year or convictions etc, and presumably the van has depreciated a bit as well but the requested premium was a 6.9% increase over last year......

I got a 1% pay rise this year...

Luckily a quote from Saga was 33% cheaper...........

The Club is definitely aiming for a wealthy client base......wink

Now Saga have got you, they'll turn the screw. Saga to me are a bunch of rogues and charlatans. Watch out. They make you think they are more helpful to those over 50, however, they are the same and as greedy as all the rest. Beware!

You are quite correct, my BMW was also with Saga and upon renewal last week they wanted a 20% premium increase.

A bit of shopping around and I got it, with Churchill for less than I had paid Saga the year before.

As has been said already, you have to be ruthless and change companies every year it seems...

Next year, as a "new customer" the Club might offer me a competitive quote.  It seems that being a loyal member of the Club counts for nothing when money is involved.......!

We are happy to pay the extra for a few reasons 1 its nothing more than a couple of quid, 2 we take our dog for free, 3 we also put up an awning which is also free. For these reasons its worth us being members. I don't want to upset people on here but I think they should know that this club is a money making business and not a charity for us all to use for our big expensive hobby. Everything else around is increases and has for as long as I have been alive. Just get over it

Hello all.

The club will increase membership by £2, from £49 to £51 if paying by Direct Debit. The Club doesn’t take this decision lightly and always looks to keep price increases to a minimum and in the best interest of the member and the Club.

Like most things prices have increased and for us also, so due to unavoidable increases in costs we have had to increase the membership fee. however it’s still competitive at less than £1 per week with over 200 sites and 2500 Certified sites which is more than other clubs in this sector.

with many other great benefits and discounts our members can also utilize.

Regarding Insurance our insurance premiums have not gone up in a number of years in fact our discounts have increased for security devices etc. The only increase in premium is due to Insurance Premium Tax Which is standard across all insurance companies and is not governed by us it’s a government increase.

We continue to provide an award winning Insurance and pride ourselves on having an insurance people can trust.

We never aim to be the cheapest insurance but we do aim to be the better insurance and there is generally always a reason other insurance companies will come out as cheaper and it’s just deciding if these differences matter to you or not.

Our Insurance is made for members by members and as we are a club insurance our main focus is our members needs, we offer a fully comprehensive cover.

We are always happy to check like for like for you and spot where the differences lie.

Look forward to helping you make the most of your membership and getaways in 2018 and appreciate your ongoing support.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and have a fab new year.laughing

Yes +1. I feel the same way as you. If someone feels they are not getting value for money then fortunately for them there is another solution.
