Magazines!

My son has a membership, and so do my husband and I. So we should get 2 magazines.

Usually my sons arrives on time, ours weeks later.

His May one has just arrived and no sign of ours. We do the crossword, so only have a few days to do it but we are going away, so no time to scan and email.

The online chat lady told me it is Royal Mail - How can it be Royal Mail when we live at the same address, unless its the RM hub near their distributor, in which case the club needs to sort it out.

I told her that no other post goes astray, including magazines & memberships cards for other organisations, bank cards. Only CAMC magazines!

She has ordered my May one, but cut the chat when I asked her why it wasn't ordered automatically.

Does anyone know what the problem actually is? And why are the club not listening to its members, using just the RM excuse?

Do I need to message them every single month to get my magazine?

We have only had one caravan club magazine in 2024 and that was back in  February.. The camping club magazine arrives every month without fail. Something seems badly wrong with this clubs distribution system and it clearly can't be the royal mail in our case. Not that no magazine bothers me greatly.

I think that the club should be seriously reviewing the Royal Mail contract and start looking for an alternative distribution partner. There are lots of Business Post companies out there. Depending on cost Amazon Business would be my choice.

I am utterly amazed to discover the Club distributing hard copies of a monthly magazine. Magazines bought at the supermarket routinely cost upwards of £7 now.

Why on earth is there not an online copy to cut cost? I really don't appreciate the clutter of paper copies.

Simply opt out of receiving the paper copy in your preferences.

There is an online copy here and as said you can opt out of a paper copy.

But as this thread is about not receiving a copy there must still be interest in getting one?

Regards to cost it has been said before that the magazine is self financing from the adverts inside.

Have you expressed your utter amazement back to the club in the Have Your Say, Club Magazine Survey posted by Rowena on 31/05/25 in the Club Products & Services section of CT.

Many thanks for the link. I had not found that (and still cannot see an obvious route to get to that link!) I can now cancel the hard copy! I don't "do paper" wherever I can avoid it. Just another thing to gather dust in a corner!!

As to the magazine being self-financing that will be a moving target year on year. I wonder whether the assertion is still true? My concern is to drive down costs of membership.

P.S. I have completed the online survey regarding the magazine.
