How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I’ve started this discussion to try and collect together any direct comparisons between CC and C&CC.

One mentioned several times is that C&CC charge deposits with bookings, whereas CC does not. In that same discussion, it was mentioned that the C&CC membership was larger than CC’s, which surprised me. Can anyone provide the stats?

What other factual differences can be identified?

Our President.

No royal dukes being available this time round the Club settled on a viscount, but he has since been upgraded. Some of you must have voted for him - though he was the only candidate on the ballot paper.

We are getting off track a bit here but he actually owns a caravan, an Airstream or did. His residence is Holkam Hall in Norfolk and both Clubs have in the past held nationals there, the C&CC just this year.

She has a tent. It is made from flimsy translucent material and she has a very bright gas fired lantern. The Earl of Leicester has heavy brown tweed curtains on his van

I wonder if Julia and Thomas have ever camped alongside each other?Laughing (Is that the "done" thing......?)

Apologies for major digression...where where we?

who says she has a tent

I simply suggested it, bearing in mind that ownership of a tent is a major discriminator between CC & CCC and the other extreme from an Airstream.

Just think of all the additional places you could camp out at with a tent.
