How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I’ve started this discussion to try and collect together any direct comparisons between CC and C&CC.

One mentioned several times is that C&CC charge deposits with bookings, whereas CC does not. In that same discussion, it was mentioned that the C&CC membership was larger than CC’s, which surprised me. Can anyone provide the stats?

What other factual differences can be identified?

I didn't realize that when I posted that my comments were only valid if they stood up in a court of law! I thought we were just engaging in a friendly discussion. I never said it was widespread and don't believe it is but in all walks of life you get a minority of people abuse the systems be it benefits, legal or caravan bookings. People on here have even said that its not against the rules and there right its not but I do believe its not in the spirit of things. As for why they told me what they did, maybe its because I have a trusting face, maybe I hypnotized them, maybe I beat a confession(that's not allowed in a court of law either) maybe its because I work with them, I'll let you the jury decide the truth because to be quite honest I don't like it being implied I'm a liar and I think my time on this forum has come to a natural conclusion, thanks for all those who have helped me. Happy Xmas and new year to you all.

I'm sorry you feel that way fur ball. As I stated in my post above nobody is implying you are a liar. I have no doubt your post accurately reported what you were told and of course your points are valid. However you are reporting facts that were told to you by somebody else. Surely it is equally the case that others may put less weight on this sort of information than if it were first hand. As I said there was certainly no intention to offend and as this appears the consequence I appologise.

Do you actually join,or just log in using the normal Club log in? Unless I have not yet been able to work it out you don't seem to be able to use a forum name, or have I got that wrong.

David

Just log in using your C&CC log in details , and no ,you can't use an alternative forum name , but it's good fun to try and work out any new CT,ers that have joinedHappy

However, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that many book in a casual manner without being certain that they will be able to make the dates they have chosen.

This is almost certainly the case, it's the only way to get a pitch on the honeypot sites

If the c&cc want forum users to use their own name and details instead of a forum name and avatar they will not attract many users.  Bearing in mind that all forums suffer from a considerable lack of security and attract many people with a high level of IT skills it is much more secure to use a forum name.   The forum administration will know each members details but that should not be allowed on open forum.

I am not sure any of us can be certain we will be able to make the dates chosen up to a year in advance. Which as you correctly say is the only way to get a pitch on the honey pot sites. We certainly have every intention of taking up our bookings, as in my opinion do the vast majority of those who book on booking day. To bring it back onto topic I notice the CC charge a £25 deposit. I can see this would stop block booking of weekends for at a whim cancelling, if this indeed happens on any large scale. However, I can't see it having any great impact on those who want the weekends, whatever the weather, which again in my opinion are the majority.

As it's members only any troll like posts etc will be more trackable. The C & CC have always pre-moderated reviews, so I hope they will have a grip on any inappropriate posts.

Incidentally if Furball is still looking at the forum I do hope we haven't lost you, it has been nice to see new members joining in.

Yes you certainly would not want to advertise you were away from home. Particularly if at a later date it is opened up as read only to all.
