Excessive site fees

Just returned from Chester Fair Oaks site, one night, £31.30 !!, I nearly choked on my dentures, It was our first trip out this year, only able to book something last minute.Ok, apparently, our over night stay was classed as still in  the 'High' season, but £31.30 per night (two adults) to stay in my own caravan is ridiculous. The club is in danger of  killing the goose that layed the golden egg. it's easy sometimes to forget that we have also paid a membership fee for the privilege of being charged so much.

What it all boils down to is that if you want cheap look elsewhere but if club sites suit you and you are willing to pay a small premium then use them. Value for money is a completely different thing from cost but is not an exact science. Basically it is what you feel is right for you so there is no right or wrong price it is your perception of it.

Yes, it really is that simple! Happy

Agree with corner steady, you get what you pay for! The CC is brilliant value. We got conned by a Devon farmer, out of 'high season for £28 a night, 6amp electric, that tripped out just using a fridge and two showers for a 5 field site!!, which you had two pay for extra

i would have thought that 2 showers for 5 vans was an exceptionally favourable ratio.

for a 100 van site youd need 40 showers to acheive the same..

i certainly would look for, nor expect, showers and toilets on a 5 van site, though some do have them.....

when we stay on a CL, usually on route for major holidays, if it doesn't have a shower & toilets listed we don't go. A lot do if you check

Well, you can't 'go' if there isn't a toilet, can you? Laughing

Do you wait till the next day? Undecided

sorry Ian, I forgot that I'm sometimes wrirting for those who have trouble with interepting the written word, I admit it was ambiguous (to help you out that means open to more than one interpretation; not having one obvious meaning) but most would have got the meaning from the rest of the post.Smile

I of course meant go to a CL that does not have facilities
