I've just noticed on the front website page that the club are offering "Join today and enjoy a free site night voucher on us!" What reward will us members of many years standing be offered I wonder on renewal of membership??

as someone once said of our (national) allies, we don't have permanent friends, we don't have permanent enemies, just permanent interests

(Gladstone?)

In other words look after number one - you!

After seeing a recent thread ' Stop moaning ' with the last post complaining about  talcum powder on the floor in a shower block  god knows what non members reading tosh like this actually think .

Then you wonder why new members are on the decline .....the mind boggles .😱

It would be good to have some incentive for continued membership.  I sometimes feel disappointed that businesses, especially insurance companies, seem to encourage folk to swap companies to get a better deal.

David, I had a very interesting conversation at my last renewal date of my home insurance. Rang existing company who shall be nameless (it was lv=) and told them I could save almost £100 on their price. Snooty clerk told me cover wouldn't be same, told him it would, he decided to check by accessing the comparison website direct. He came back on and sheepishly agreed to match the lower quote as the company offering the quote was the very same lv= . Amazing!

One of the advantages of being retired is that I now have a little more time to play insurance companies off against each other.  I do this every year with car and house insurance, but tend not to with caravan insurance - I always stick with the CAMC as I have heard some horror stories about folk that have had caravan insurance elsewhere and my own experience when I claimed through the Club was excellent.  With car and house insurance I'll always look for the best price and comparable cover.
