Does the Club Mag care what we think ?

I sent an complaint email to the Mag on August 1st & have never received a reply.

So on 6th August I emailed the club who sent it on to the Mag - still no response.

The reason I was contacting the Mag was in the August edition 'epic adventures cartoon strip' in 'kids corner' had what I regard very unwise suggestion that it is safe for children to try & touch / handle wild squirrels. Squirrels are renowned for having a vicious bite & I think the Mag was very unwise in publishing such content particulary as it is aimed at children.

It seems that they have totally ignored my concerns - I've had no response back at all & having just received the September Mag they have published nothing in there either.

I am most disappointed in the lack of concern by the Mag staff.

Thats because writers like Beatrice Potter have anthropomorphised squirrels into cuddly squirrel nutkins.

Where as in reality they are just tree rats.

And look what these writers have done to foxes (and a certain Basil has a lot to answer for. Foxes are vermin as well!

Foxes are part of our eco system, as are most things that were put on this earth before we evolved to destoy it

Exactly so. How rude to just ignore a member who took the trouble to write to them.

Once again reinforcing the view that the CC only want to receive correspondence that praises them.

Nope not one jot

Does the Club Mag care what we think ?

Not very much as long as you keep paying your subs and frequenting the sites.

My advice would be do not feed them, leave them at a distant, this is the advice I would give for all wild life.  The people who write this stuff really should know better.  No matter how tame or semi domesticated they appear to be they are annimals of the wild and should be respected as such

I'm confused here.

Are we still talking about the squirrels.....

...or the children ? Undecided

Fine until the top predators are removed (for whatever reason) then the natural eco system is disrupted and until restored, certain animals need to be controlled.

Not suggesting that the control should consist of chasing them all over the place with dogs by the way.
