Now that all the turbulence of last year's name change is over, I really hope that the Club can get the website sorted out

It really is a disgrace !!

It is so S-L-O-W that many a times I just give up ....... the CCC site by comparison is lightening fast and very responsive & a pleasure to use

As one of the leading caravanning clubs in the UK, the website above all else is what really lets the organisation down

We are marking time, waiting for the big payday when we get our lump sums! The joys of only being youngsters! wink

Anybody touring a foreign country is a tourist who enjoys meeting and chatting to people who have a different culture to themselves. The culture is absorbed in small quantities. Staying on campsites abroad is one of the best ways to hone our language skills and enjoy meeting people  in a relaxed and informal way.

I know this may sound odd to those who never go outside their comfort zone. But touring abroad Is exciting,  rewarding and enjoyable. And unlike the UK there is never any need to visit the same place twice.

Why do you have to be so insulting about simple choice K?

He enjoys the false sense of superiority perhaps? Otherwise I have no idea

It's possible to keep on visiting the same place a number of times, and also see new places.

We happily go back to San Francisco if we can fit it in to another tour. Came back from New Zealand that way. Hope to re-visit again on a trip from Vancouver and Victoria (both re-visits) via a new trip - ferry to Seattle and a drive down the coast.

If I am fortunate enough to be selected to participate in a function at Harvard next year, I will relish re-visiting Boston and will also re-visit New York on the same trip.

Many familiar (to us) mainland European cities, towns, rural / seaside locations form part of a new tour.

It's not either ... or. Both is good. Familiar and new.

yes +1, agree.

I only meant that to a certain poster following on from M's post, who criticises 'us' doing that over here but does that a lot on his tours over there

because it either gets a reaction from us, or maybe he enjoys getting people to be uncomfortable?smile

Some people are like that, can't bear to see others happy?

But David, you appear to think that touring abroad is only possible or desirable if towing a huge white box behind you! There are other ways of enjoying life around the world you know and without repeatedly revisiting the same places, attractive though they might be. smile

Not sure why you're adopting that attitude, David. Both of us enjoy caravanning and both of use enjoy jetting off to far-flung places. I don't believe I've ever "denigrated" your choice of destination - just pointed out that, personally we enjoy visiting different places world wide rather than returning to the same place several times. That suits you and that's fine but please stop denigrating folk who choose to do their caravanning in the UK.

BTW it wasn't me who said that one of the joys of touring overseas was that "there is never any need to visit the same place twice", just look back at the previous page! smile

It rather sounds as though you regard caravanning as a second class alternative to hotel tours and if  so why are you bothering with it?

It now seems it' not sufficient to denigrate my choice of destinations but to hold strident opinions about how many times we should visit a place and stay when we get there. ,  As you take such a close personal  intestinal I'm my life I might be justified in wondering   about the attraction of a static in Cornwall but I dont.since it' none of my business I

M has not denigrated your choice at all, and pot kettle black springs to mind there Dave.

In your own words (so you can't be offended can you) have a good long at your own posts to see what you have written about how over there is so much better than what we choose to do over here!
