Advert for Green Flag / May Day

Is it possible to stop adverts  via the post and magazine inserts?

I feel I am being inundated with communications from breakdown companies via the Caravan and Motorhome club. I really can't see the point of inserting reams of adverts for 'fence paint', 'double glazing', 'wills', 'life insurance' etc, etc in to the club magazine, I don't read them, I just dump them into the rubbish bin.

I have tried umpteen times to 'unsubscribe' from the breakdown companies mailing list but I still get emails and letters through the post.

Please whoever is in charge, tell me that I won't receive any more 'rubbish' via the post or email.

Do other members have the same problem?

Perhaps the only way to resolve this problem is to leave the club. I am thinking about it.

No. You need to stop having the magazine delivered, and read it online. Then all you need to do is make sure all the advert filters are set up correctly on your computer choice. And opt out of receiving emails from the Club. 😁

Thanks for your reply 'takethedogalong', I'll look into your suggestions.
Opting out of all emails from the club is something I could do. I feel that now my information has been shared amongst other companies in this industry, stopping them completely is going to be difficult.

I don’t think the Club will have shared that much of it to be honest, not without letting you know in the small print. It’s more likely to be some website you have linked to that now has your lifestyle, age group, shoe size and insurance renewals in their system!

Be very wary of Samsung TVs, and don’t use Siri if you use Apple products😂

you can opt out of receiving the club magazine, and i am just about to do that, it is not only the inserts advertising everything from double glazing to I think funeral plans in this months, but also the pages and pages of advertising in the magazine itself, i know this probably generates revenue for the club and helps finance the magazine but useful reading is probably now at 20 pct, advertising at 80 pct.

Do you run out the house and have a go at all the people shoving advertising leaflets through you letter box at all times of the day every day. At least the mag is only once a month.

Advertising copy from one source like Greenflag which arrives as an individual letter should be easy enough to stop, just contact them as at some stage you must have (inadvertently perhaps) signed up. The inserts in the magazine are totally different provide useful extra income for the Club. They are not tailored to you but the general demographic. We are also told by the Club that those that appear time and time again are included because enough Club members actually buy the products to make it worthwhile. I am not sure why you are so bothered by them as they take seconds to remove and recycle, why deny the club of an income stream?
