Not club standard and very disapointing

We arrived Friday lunchtime to be told only the east side toilet block was open! I was amazed at this as the site was very busy. The west side is by far the better half of the site at this time of year. The fallen leaves on the pitches & roads are very bad and will heavy rain most of the weekend it makes it very slippery underfoot. The wardens said they could not open the other toilet block as they were too busy to clean them? We only visited the site two weeks previous and they were both open then although some of the showers were locked, both mornings I had to wait in line for an available shower so they were needed The state of some of the pitches is a disgrace, it amazes me that the CMC have spent so much money on putting sheds on the dog walk when the state of the site roads, pitches is so below standard I think enough people have commented on this for something to be done about it My only fear is it will be closed for a refurbishment and not open again for several months We got talking to another customer on Sunday morning and he was so fed up with CMC price increases when the standard or number of sites is not improving he is not joining next time his renewal is due Time for some action from the club I think, although I doubt very much anything will be done

It's interesting to note that the previous reviewer states that he persuaded the wardens to open the second facility block.

The fact that several recent reviews express dissatisfaction with the site should be ringing alarm bells somewhere.

We were there in March this year and were quite happy with the site ,after all its only a place to park your caravan/motorhome while you visit the area

In reply to Tinwheeler, the warden did reopen the second facility block but this was not done until the evening, so Dawn F is correct saying that only one was open on her arrival.

Very sad that the Club are letting the standards of sites slip. Lots have commented on the poor state of the pitches. Pitch 32w sticks in my mind as more mud that chippings.

Also the wooden frost protectors around the water points are rotten, lots of the rubbish bins covered with birds mess as they are under trees, at least one of the chemical disposal points falling apart with no protective lining

Hopeless really

They have recently invested in Glamping pods, so you would think they see a future in the site. Never been particularly impressed by it myself, although it's location is superb. Leaves are going to be a problem at this time of year and there are a lot of trees at M in M. Plus of course it has been exceptionally wet. Only having one toilet block open if the site was as busy as usual at a weekend, does seem a wrong decision, which was rectified.

At this time of year has there been a reduction in staff levels? which is a problem that seems to not yet  be noted, by EGH is causing the staff to be asked to do over their winter job descriptions (at weekends in particular)that with more members using their LVs all seasons need more facilities on sites to be open

Then perhaps the club should comment on here as to what their intentions are with the site and staff levels.  Reading the reviews won’t encourage me to visit

It should not have needed to be rectified. The sites manager made a poor decision presumably and given the general cost of pitches and the size of the site was not acceptable unless a large part of the site was closed.
