Set in open countryside just outside York, York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite is beautifully screened from the world with trees and hedges. The campsite is ideal for exploring the historic city or for discovering Yorkshire's many varied attractions further afield. It is also a great location for families in search of plenty of space for children to play and yet within close range of both modern conveniences and the pleasant surrounding natural landscapes.

York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite puts you within easy reach of local transport. Park 'n' Ride is available from Monks Cross, allowing you to visit a wide range of interesting locations. Monks Cross offers plenty of high street shops and a variety of places to eat and drink. Retail parks where you can shop 'til you drop are within easy reach too.

The medieval streets of York offer an excellent opportunity to soak up the local history: just some of the attractions to visit are the Minster, National Railway Museum and the fascinating Jorvik Viking Centre. 12 miles away is the wonderful country estate of Castle Howard, owned the Carlisle branch of the Howard family for more than 300 years. Other places within a short distance from the site and well worth the visit are Rievaulx Abbey, Ryedale's market towns, the famous Moors and of course the beauty of historic Bronte country.

Travelling a little further afield, you can reach the popular coastal resort of Scarborough. For fabulous food shopping and delicious local produce head to Malton, known as Yorkshire's food capital. The town also hosts the annual Food Lovers Festival with cookery demonstrations, family entertainment, lots of food stalls and plenty more. Nearby to Malton, Flamingo Land has plenty to keep the kids entertained, including a theme park and plenty of wildlife. For a more leisurely outing, you can opt for a romantic cruise along the river Ouse.

A week in beechwood grange

York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite
A truly perfect site, The Wardens Jayne & Andy were so friendly & helpful. They look after the site to a very high standard & are very knowledgeable about the area, an asset to the club. The enclosed dog run was well maintained especially for my puppy off lead. The added extras of picnic benches were a bonus, something that they do on CL site so was nice to see on a club site. The washrooms were immaculate. The site is situated central to the local area with a local bus service close by.

Lovely site, quiet, very clean and well laid out, only downfall is the dog field.

York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite
Really nice site, very clean in the pitch areas, and a tidy layout. My one surprise was the off lead dog field. As you cannot see the whole field from the gate it is not apparent if anyone else is already in there with an off lead dog. When I was there I could not use the field for over 1 hour due to an off lead Bernese Mountain dog that was less than friendly or well mannered and the owners obvious to what the dog was doing, they didn't keep an eye on it. A hazard waiting to happen should someone take in a dog, and another one off lead already in there that is overly dominant or aggressive. The other downside of off lead dogs is there was A LOT of poop not picked up, everywhere, you could smell it. If dogs are on a lead at least the owners should be aware of where it is doing this.

Excellent

York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite
We visit regularly and are never disappointed. Large flat site with plenty of room and easily reached by road although the A64 can be very busy particularly at weekends. Well run and kept by wardens. Typical club site with no obvious faults. Park and ride is just down the road and takes motorhomes with free parking. Good selection of shops and two supermarkets near park and ride. If you are touring the area this site is probably the best of the two York sites, but less so if you are planning to spend most of your time in the centre.

Absolutely great site with a warm welcome.

York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite
The wardens work tiresly to maintain the site to a very high standard, and there's always a friendly smile and wave. The site is meticulously clean and tidy with with a lovely open feeling, perfectly placed for exploring the area. Only slight disapointemnt was the number of guests who felt it acceptable to cut through your pitch rather than use the paths/roads provided. This is in no way the fault at of the wardens. A big thank you to the wardens!

Excellent stay

York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite
We stayed for 5 nights and visited the local areas (York, Malton etc). Fantastic location and easy to get into York in a cab. The site was clean and well looked after and the wardens were lovely. All in all, we will certainly be back.
