Set in open countryside just outside York, York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite is beautifully screened from the world with trees and hedges. The campsite is ideal for exploring the historic city or for discovering Yorkshire's many varied attractions further afield. It is also a great location for families in search of plenty of space for children to play and yet within close range of both modern conveniences and the pleasant surrounding natural landscapes.
York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite puts you within easy reach of local transport. Park 'n' Ride is available from Monks Cross, allowing you to visit a wide range of interesting locations. Monks Cross offers plenty of high street shops and a variety of places to eat and drink. Retail parks where you can shop 'til you drop are within easy reach too.
The medieval streets of York offer an excellent opportunity to soak up the local history: just some of the attractions to visit are the Minster, National Railway Museum and the fascinating Jorvik Viking Centre. 12 miles away is the wonderful country estate of Castle Howard, owned the Carlisle branch of the Howard family for more than 300 years. Other places within a short distance from the site and well worth the visit are Rievaulx Abbey, Ryedale's market towns, the famous Moors and of course the beauty of historic Bronte country.
Travelling a little further afield, you can reach the popular coastal resort of Scarborough. For fabulous food shopping and delicious local produce head to Malton, known as Yorkshire's food capital. The town also hosts the annual Food Lovers Festival with cookery demonstrations, family entertainment, lots of food stalls and plenty more. Nearby to Malton, Flamingo Land has plenty to keep the kids entertained, including a theme park and plenty of wildlife. For a more leisurely outing, you can opt for a romantic cruise along the river Ouse.
