Large site in seaside location

Cayton Village Club Campsite
Large site on 2 levels with fabulous toilet blocks with everything you need. Great dog walk which goes round the upper part of the site and fully fenced so dogs can go off lead. Bus stop at site entrance to go into Scarborough and Bridlington and nice walk to Cayton beach. Also places to eat and shop in the village with supermarkets/shops nearby. The only thing we didn’t like were the central bins idea as they are near the entrance which is a long walk from the upper part of the site. On such a large site it would be better to have another central bin location on the upper part of the site near the toilet block. A lot of people don’t always go out in their vehicles and can take their rubbish in their to drop off at the central area, so it makes a long trek every day to drop off your rubbish. Also if you do take it down in the vehicle, you then have the trouble of parking to drop it off. It would cost some extra bin bags with a second location but it can be collected at the same time as bins are emptied at the upper toilet block (internal bins in the washrooms etc.)so it wouldn't cost any extra man hours. I totally agree with central bin locations on a small site as they’re usually near to the toilet block and rubbish can be dropped off when you go to wash up or shower etc. but not a large site with 2 levels.

Large site good location

Cayton Village Club Campsite
Cayton village is a large site split into two fields both kept immaculately clean and tidy as are the toilet blocks. There are some ongoing building works(new houses) nearby with the usual associated noises but these didn't bother us too much. My only gripe is the 'central' located bins are definitely not central being near the entrance, a long walk from the top field! There has to be a better solution surely? Dry recycling and bottles don't need bin bags and could still be collected from service points?

Cayton Bay

Cayton Village Club Campsite
Very nice stay again at Cayton Bay . But the noise from the building site development next to the premium pitches was totally unexpected especially when they started working at 7.10am .!! Perhaps you should warm members before they book , or indeed offer a discount for the pitches which are affected by the ongoing works .

Highly recommended

Cayton Village Club Campsite
Fantastic Stay, - the staff are an absolute credit to the site and could not be more friendly or helpful. One of the best shower blocks we have had and always spotless. The bank holiday weekend events planned on site were a very welcomed added bonus. We will certainly be back again. Goes without saying it is one of the best sites we have stayed on.

My stay at Cayton Bay

Cayton Village Club Campsite
I have stayed here lots of times, and always had a fantastic time. This year however was very different. I had called ahead as I had no internet, I was told that they had no availability for the 4 days I wanted to stay. Later that day I was on a bus, and as I had internet I checked the site, and they had availability and therefore I booked up. Apparently they had an event on the following Saturday, And were running around trying to get this up and running. I believe they just didn't check when I called because the event was taking up all their time. I arrived and parked up, but noticed people just kept walking across my pitch and dragging, water carriers etc across the gravel. I went out, but all they did was walk on the grass right next to my seating area. This to me is very disrespectful. I have never cut across, and always used the roads. I knew the toilet closing time for cleaning, so went to shower at the at the top of the site on my last day. It closes late afternoon. When I got there it was also closed. The woman cleaning the toilets asked if I had left something in the showers, which I replied "I thought these toilets closed later". she said "yes they do, but we have a big event on and are cleaning both toilet at the same time". I got the impression that nothing else matter but the event. This spoilt my trip, and hopefully a polite reminder by staff, will stop people cutting through other peoples pitches. My trip to Cayton was lovely and the walk from Filey to Scarborough on the Cleveland way was beautiful. I will be back ,but not when the English school holiday's are on, Plus a on site event.
