The village of Cross Hands in Wales is situated in the county of Carmarthenshire amid some awe-inspiring scenery, making it the perfect place for getting away from it all on a real retreat.
It's ideal for hiking, birdwatching and any other outdoor pursuits you might want to engage in.
In the village itself, a single pub and restaurant will give you a warm welcome, with the former being great on those chilly winter nights if you want a cosy ambience. There's also a great chippy for lunchtime.
In terms of attractions, you can take a look at the Cross Hands Public Hall, which is Grade II listed in Art Deco style and currently houses a theatre and cinema.
A little further afield, there's also the National Botanic Garden of Wales, the Llyn Llech Owain Country Park, the Llanelli WWT National Wetland Centre and - if it's wet - the Play Kind soft play centre for kids.
