Why stay here ...

Quiet and peaceful Caravan/Motorhome site located on the β€œwild side” of Loch Ness in the Strathnairn valley, surrounded by beautiful countryside and the Monadhliath mountain range. Being in such a rural location we benefit from an abundance of wildlife.

Watch the Red Kites circle above daily and perhaps catch a glimpse of the Osprey or Sea Eagle. Deer roam the hills around us and if you visit during autumn, you can hear the rutting stags. If you are very lucky you might just see one of our local hares hopping through the garden grounds.

We are only 20 minutes by car from Inverness, the starting point of the NC500 and 15 minutes by car from the shores of Loch Ness - the popular Loch Ness Beach at Dores. The site is the ideal base for exploring the Highlands and local area or simply put your feet up and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. There is a local bus service which runs infrequently if you wish to enjoy a day sightseeing in Inverness without the need to drive. There is also a number of local cycle routes for the more active adventurer.

The site contains five fully serviced pitches, all hard standing with water and electric hook-up points at each pitch, along with grey water waste disposal at the pitches. The site does not have any toilet or shower facilities however there is a communal chemical waste point. The site also benefits from excellent WiFi which is included in the price.

The site is adults only and well-behaved dogs are welcome although they must be kept on a lead in the grounds.

Arrivals are from 12 noon until 8pm. Later arrivals are welcome they just need to be pre-arranged.

Enjoyable Visit

Second stop on our annual grand tour of 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. A new one for us. Nice peaceful site, in a very rural location, very occasional rural road noise, with cattle, sheep, pheasants and Red Kites flying about, but only 20/25 min drive to Inverness. Serviced pitches, some are quite tight and on... Show more

Nice Quiet CL

Nice CL in open countryside. Very easy to find, excellent directions from the owners received prior to travelling. There is a lower area with two pitches overlooking a sheep field, lovely to watch. There is a slightly higher area with three pitches. Each pitch had the luxury of its own... Show more

Great little CL site

Perfect for our one night stopover. Excellent communication before we arrived and a friendly welcome. Water, electricity, grey water waste, toilet waste disposal. No toilets or showers but excellent Wi-Fi. A lovely peaceful setting with spacious pitches. Would use again.

Fabulous CL!

We spent a week here at the beginning of August and absolutely loved every minute of it! Rob & Angelique are wonderful hosts, sending us a map of the site showing our pitch, providing an overview SMS a couple of days before arrival, greeting us on arrival and seeing us... Show more

A peaceful week of stunning scenery and wildlife - and with great facilities

We stayed for a week in a caravan and loved this site. Beautiful scenery, and we saw hares, eagles, red kites and redstarts among others from the site. Saw many more eagles in the surrounding countryside too. Also Slavonian Grebes and lesser redpolls just a short walk away at Loch... Show more

Little gem

A lovely site off the beaten track. Fully serviced pitched. Friendly owners. It was a stop over before we were going to join the NC500. Stayed here 2 nights. Lovely biking area. Loch Ness nearby. Lovely views and quiet. Highly recommended. Our outfit is 8.5m long and didn't have an... Show more

Beautiful and peaceful

Spent three days on this site which although we went sailing past as looking for hotel sign the large Steadings sign was a massive clue! The site has superb views, only noise was the local bird life my only negative was the pitches are small for the larger modern caravan... Show more

Stunning spot for a CL although layout not ideal for some.

This CL is easy to find as the old hotel is shown on Google maps and there is a large stag statue just beyond the gates. The gates are not positioned far enough away from the road for a towing vehicle to clear the road, so if they are closed... Show more

Disappointed

The arrival sign upon arrival was obscured by bins, therefore as with the majority of CL's we opted for a pitch that seemed suitable,on the Upper level as the steep and narrow slope to the lower level and pitch layouts didn't appear ideal. ⁰ The manager Angelique hurried out... Show more
