The Highlanders' Museum
A five-star attraction with 14 exhibition galleries including the late Queenβs Own Highlanders Collection.
View and BookQuiet and peaceful Caravan/Motorhome site located on the βwild sideβ of Loch Ness in the Strathnairn valley, surrounded by beautiful countryside and the Monadhliath mountain range. Being in such a rural location we benefit from an abundance of wildlife.
Watch the Red Kites circle above daily and perhaps catch a glimpse of the Osprey or Sea Eagle. Deer roam the hills around us and if you visit during autumn, you can hear the rutting stags. If you are very lucky you might just see one of our local hares hopping through the garden grounds.
We are only 20 minutes by car from Inverness, the starting point of the NC500 and 15 minutes by car from the shores of Loch Ness - the popular Loch Ness Beach at Dores. The site is the ideal base for exploring the Highlands and local area or simply put your feet up and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. There is a local bus service which runs infrequently if you wish to enjoy a day sightseeing in Inverness without the need to drive. There is also a number of local cycle routes for the more active adventurer.
The site contains five fully serviced pitches, all hard standing with water and electric hook-up points at each pitch, along with grey water waste disposal at the pitches. The site does not have any toilet or shower facilities however there is a communal chemical waste point. The site also benefits from excellent WiFi which is included in the price.
The site is adults only and well-behaved dogs are welcome although they must be kept on a lead in the grounds.
Arrivals are from 12 noon until 8pm. Later arrivals are welcome they just need to be pre-arranged.

This CL is easy to find as the old hotel is shown on Google maps and there is a large stag statue just beyond the gates. The gates are not positioned far enough away from the road for a towing vehicle to clear the road, so if they are closed... Show more

The arrival sign upon arrival was obscured by bins, therefore as with the majority of CL's we opted for a pitch that seemed suitable,on the Upper level as the steep and narrow slope to the lower level and pitch layouts didn't appear ideal. β° The manager Angelique hurried out... Show more
