Creetown Gem Rock Museum
A beautiful collection of gems and crystals including 3 galleries, a crystal cave and a gem cutting workshop.
View and BookBorrowmoss Farm CL accepts members only and is situated just less than a mile from Wigtown, Scotlands National Book Town. It's close enough to walk into the town along a single track road / cycle route or drive there in a few minutes. Buses from Wigtown go to Newton Stewart, Garlieston, Whithorn and Port William.
Julie & Frank offer a great place to relax with the 5 pitches for caravans, campervans or trailer tents (sorry no tents). The pitches are on hardstanding with a grassed area each, overlooking our fields and paddocks and uninterrupted beautiful views over the hills in the distance.
Each pitch provides:
• Its own water supply.
• The latest Rolec metered hook-up point with smart card reader (meaning you only pay for the electricity you use).
There is grey waste disposal, an elsan area and a hose to wash off muddy paws.
We are adult only and dog friendly (please keep on leads.) We have a toilet block trailer offering 3 cubicles and a separate toilet with planned shower (coming soon). There are information packs provided giving details of where to eat, what to do and places of interest. We also provide a selection of books, games and DVD's.
We have a variety of animals and horses you are welcome to meet if you wish! We also have 2 stables in a self-contained block (at an extra cost) for anyone who would like to bring their horses on holiday with them!
Outdoor enthusiasts will love this area being surrounded by beautiful scenery and a nature reserve on the doorstep and there are several beautiful beaches close by to choose from. We are also a short drive from the Galloway Forest and all it has to offer including walks and many bike trails set within 300sq miles of forest, rivers and lochs to explore. Wigtown offers a golf-course as well as Monreith and Newton Stewart.
Wigtown, is situated on the Machars peninsula in South West Scotland and in an ideal position for exploring the area's beauty and history, with lots of interests and activities close at hand.
Wigtown is a small country town with an impressive Town Hall and as the title suggests it is the home of many book shops! Along with these is a good CoOp and Farm Shop for supplies, a cash machine, several nice gift shops to browse, along with a choice of local cafes, bar, restaurant and Fish & Chip shop. There are many dog-friendly services in the area.
Every Saturday between April and October a Farmers and Craft Market is held in the town square.
Newton Stewart, at only 6 miles away, provides a selection of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, super-markets, cinema and gym.
We are very well situated for stopovers on your way to/from the Cairnryan Ferry which is only 30 miles away via the A75.
