Balmaclellan Certificated Locations

The Scottish village of Balmaclellan is set in the delightfully rural surrounds of Dumfries and Galloway, making it a firm favourite among walkers.

Hikes take ramblers over the Rhinns of Kells, or up the five-mile range from Barscobe Hill to Fell Hill. Panoramic views are in abundance in this part of Scotland.

Alternatively, walkers can head out on the Glenkens Jubilee route, which links Balmaclellan to Dalry and New Galloway. There is plenty of opportunity for bird watching on the way, with a nature reserve surrounding the Lowes Lochs.

The quaint village sits in the shadow of a 12th century motte, and visitors can also enjoy a trip to the 17th century Barscobe Castle.
