Lovely country site near Worcester and NT properties

Walsgrove Farm
Attractive sunny, spacious site with lovely orchard on three sides. Can pitch caravan on grass, or, if wet weather, can pitch backing on to grass but keeping caravan wheels on gravel – then you have the best of both worlds. Friendly owners. Adjoining very small car park screened by small trees is used by mothers and babies coming to occasional classes in building on the site. The café mentioned in earlier reviews is no longer open. In the season there are “pick your own” plums and apples. Need own toilet paper and 50p coin for shower - if long hair might need 2 x 50p. Electricity is metered and reasonably charged when you leave. Pershore is a beautiful nearby Georgian market town with an amazing Abbey in the middle of the town surrounded by a small park for all the family. You can park free next to Pershore Bridge on the SE corner of the town and walk the ten minutes into the centre past beautiful houses on Bridge Street/High Street/Broad Street. Remember to stand on Pershore Bridge, the scene of civil war skirmishes between the Royalists and the Roundheads in the mid 1600s. Very good information centre in the Town Hall on High Street, with Heritage Centre upstairs. You can also walk the other way from Pershore Bridge the short distance on a path to the pretty village of Wick where there are visitor information boards around the village, but nowhere to buy anything to eat, unfortunately. Worcester is very interesting with a Cathedral and many half-timbered buildings. We visited Greyfriars House (National Trust) and The Guildhall (several floors) (free) – both fascinating, but did not have time to see more. The visitor information centre is next to the Guildhall, on High Street. Near Worcester is The Firs, Elgar's Birthplace Museum, gardens and visitor centre - (also National Trust) – we spent a day there, including a one hour talk. Spent another day at Croome Court with RAF Museum on same site (National Trust again) – both excellent with wonderful Capability Brown views all round the mansion. The Malvern Hills and Cotswolds are near for walking and long views.

Nice, well situated site

Walsgrove Farm
Good enough directions to find the site. Site is behind a couple of houses and next to a function room and on the edge of a large orchard. Hard standing very useful in March as the ground was soft - I was asked not to go onto the grass, quite rightly. In the summer, the generous grassed area would provide well spaced pitches. The Hard standing was segregated off from a small car park for the function room/shop. There was activity in the room, but unobtrusive. Some road noise as mentioned, but not serious. Facilities clean. Orchard provided good dog walk on the lead - there were deer seen in the orchard.

Great site- quiet and well placed

Walsgrove Farm
The site is easy to access off the main Worcester to Evesham road. There is a small amount of road noise but imperceptible when in a caravan. Good facilities- all clean- though grass slightly springy underfoot- a drop from the hard standing to the grass made pulling off more challenging. A good place to stay with a very friendly welcome from the owners. Easy to find all facilities- 20p required for shower if you need it. 16A hookup provided. Enough space to distance and in dryer weather more of the field could be used. Will return again when in the area.

Pleasant site but needs some attention

Walsgrove Farm
Suggest instructions say 'site on right past Spetchley ? (works which are clearly signed). We visited on a Sunday in August so there were no cars at the shop or nursery. The site is spacious but it is quite a drop from the hardstanding onto the grass which was soft even in a drought. Motor mover essential. The owner welcomed us and as there was only one other van we could choose where we pitched. The toilet block could be lovely but was scruffy, and needed updating. Did not look as though the rooms had been cleaned this year judging by the dirt round the windows. We did not use the facilities. Otherwise it is a very pleasant site.

Great overnight stay

Walsgrove Farm
Stopped overnight on route to Devon. Very warm welcome by owner. Shower and toilet on site which were more than adequate and kept clean. As to some of the negatives posted by other users, yes the site is close to a main road and there is a bit off road noise but it didn't prevent a good nights sleep. Yes the site is part of an orchard with on site tea room. All this is well advertised in the site description and facilities or on site map.As I did my homework and checked the site out on line before booking, in my view it would be unfair to then flag up road noise, and some of the other negatives. Overall a pleasant site with good phone signal and good TV signal if those things are important to you. Driving around the area we saw a few pubs with one just down the road which served a carvery at a good price.
