Great CL

Harpsbridge Bungalow
Just back from a five night stay at this lovely CL. The owners are lovely people, very friendly and welcoming. The site is immaculately kept, the grass is mown and collected. We were very lucky in timing our visit to a time when we were the only campers, so we had the site to ourselves! The site has a gated entrance and also a gate from the road to the bungalow, where the owners live. You can, within reason, pitch where you like. There are a couple of paving stones at each suggested pitch, for you to choose to use or not. To get the best from our van and the site, we chose to go length ways, along the hedgerow. We barely needed to do any leveling, the site is very flat. We were warned that electricity is 6 amp so might trip out and shown how to reset it. However, we use gas to boil our kettle and only had the fridge and water heater/pump on and we didn't trip the system at all. There is a little road noise, which is why I went for four stars but the road isn't especially busy and is not a major road, being a B road. We didn't find the traffic noise intrusive at all and certainly not at night. There is a dog friendly beach a couple or three minute drive away, with a free car park accessed by a single track road. Getting into Mablethorpe is easy, definitely no more than ten minutes. There's a range of shopping there, including Lidl and Co-op. There are a few pubs, we'd recommend The No 8 pub if you aren't looking for food. The Italian was pretty good, food at The Louth was better than we expected from the look of the place. It was top side price wise for decent pub grub. We also tried the Chinese sit in restaurant which was average really. Getting to Sutton on Sea and Louth was easy, we spent a bit of time in both. Louth had more to offer, of the two places. There is also a pay and display car park directly on the sea front in Mablethorpe which was a five or six minute drive from the site. The toilet and shower facilities at the site are great and immaculately kept. I'd like to extend our thanks to the owners for being great hosts and wish all of you the very best. I can't finish without paying tribute to Sidney, who is a fantastic gate keeper and not to be missed. Til next time, we bid you all farewell. We shall be back and we highly recommend the site to others.

Thank you for the friendly welcome. You couldn’t have been more helpful, and I really enjoyed my stay at Harpsbridge. The site is beautifully maintained, toilet facilities are just like home. There are amazing beaches all along the coast. Don’t miss a Gerardo ice cream in Mablethorpe!

perfect little site

Gorgeous little site owners friendly and helpful, toilets were closed due to the current situation, but not a problem as we tend to use our own we love cycling and found plenty of lovely country lanes to explore easy access to Mablethorpe with a lovey walk or cycle right along the front Also found a nice peaceful beach just up the road
