The beach offers incredible rock pools to explore, or take your adventure to the sea and enjoy kayaking, swimming and incredible surfing all within a 5 minute drive. There's also Wembury Walkies, a secure dog walking field close by to take advantage of, where you can soak in views across Wembury Bay while your dog explores safely.

If you want to explore more breath-taking landscapes, head to Dartmoor National Park where you will find spectacular views, lakes to splash in and ample wooded areas to explore. Also worth a visit is Buckland Abbey, a 700-year-old monastery that offers a wonderful day out and The National Marine Aquarium which is the largest aquarium in the UK. Be sure to check out what The National Trust has to offer locally, including Saltram House & Gardens and Plymbridge Woods where you can follow the old Great Western Railway track, ending with a stop at The Skylark pub.

Top CL and great views!

Mewstone Meadow
A well kept, lovely little CL with beautiful views of the sea. Huge hard standing pitches with your own area of grass in between. Each pitch has its own own electricity and water point. A short walk from the site to the South West coast path and National Trust owned Wembury Point. We enjoyed a stop off at the local pubs, The Eddystone and The Mussell Inn, to keep hydrated on our loop back to the site. Jon, the farmer, was very friendly and helpful.

Nice quiet site

Mewstone Meadow
Appears to be a relatively new site. Quiet surroundings, with the sea visible on the horizon (although not the coastline). Convenient water + EHU on every pitch. Good strong WiFi signal - good enough that I was able to "work from home" from the site. Wembury Point (National Trust) less than a mile away. Directions provided to site are good; the last mile or so is quite narrow (some parts are single-track with passing places), so you need to be confident in your ability to reverse your outfit. Since "feedback" is always supposed to include some "areas for improvement", one minor niggle: the grey water disposal point is raised off the ground far enough that I had to lift up the Wastemaster to get the water to go in, rather than spill all over the ground. Fortunately I'm able to do so, but perhaps some users might struggle. Maybe I'm doing it wrong...

Beautiful Site

Mewstone Meadow
This is by far the best CL site we have been on so far. The views and the facilities are spot on a fully serviced large pitch to relax on, what more could you want. Really enjoyed our bank holiday weekend away. Such a peaceful site and great walks which lead you down to the coast and a stop over at the Eddystone Inn for some great food. We will be back again soon.

Beautiful Location

Mewstone Meadow
Our first trip & will definitely be returning. All necessary information provided by Jon, the owner prior to arrival so could just crack on set up when we got there. This really is an idyllic location with sea views & nothing to hear but birdsong. Perfect set up with electric gate, electric & water supply to each pitch, good Wi-Fi & very large hardstanding area - huge pitches! Not sure why the previous reviewer was so critical - although the grass had been cut when we arrived you can see why it wasn’t done earlier as the ground was so soft. The bin has been replaced by a full size bin & the owner was friendly & approachable & easily contacted by phone. As it was so quiet when we stayed, he was happy for us to arrive early & leave late so we had a lovely long weekend! Hoping to revisit before too long.

Beautiful setting, but sadly uncared for!

Mewstone Meadow

Firstly the pro's. Extremely peaceful with lovely distant sea views. Very spacious pitches with water on the pitch. Wi fi is good and television signal is good also. Cons; The grass here is the longest I have ever seen grass in 25 years of caravanning, it was three quarters of the way up my wellies. even to get to dump your rubbish you need wellies on to walk over the grass. The recycling goes into two green wheelie bins, which is fine, but the general waste only has a small plastic swing bin which is less than two foot tall. This was overflowing when we arrived (Thurs) and once only emptied once during our weeks stay on the Sunday. So all the waste rubbish had to be left beside the overflowing bin every day. Sadly we never got to meet the owner to discuss this with him, but I know other site users phoned him up to come and get the rubbish. The pitches and drive were covered with weeds which had all been sprayed with weedkiller, leaving the pitches brown and looking very very scruffy, again the worst I have ever seen. This CL desperately needs a bit of TLC and then it would be just fabulous. I understand this is a relatively new CL, so I just hope that the owner will understand that he needs to empty the bin every day and cut the grass on a regular basis. It would be great for that to happen , and see this as a lovely place for everyone to stay.

Comment from the Club:

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review and we are so pleased that you found the setting of this CL beautiful. The CL owner wants to ensure everyone has the best possible time at their site and as such would like to address your concerns. The grass has been cut and the reason it hadn't during your stay was due to the constant wet weather which made it impossible. The bins are emptied and extra capacity has been added to the bins. The owner did not receive a phone call from other site users about collecting refuse and would have been happy to empty them if he had. The CL is well cared for and is a beautiful site for members to enjoy.
