Grange Court is located in the quiet village of Cliburn in the beautiful Eden Valley, renowned not only for its scenery, wonderful walking, pretty sandstone villages and quiet country lanes which are ideal for cycling, but it is also perfectly placed between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
The village of Cliburn is typical of the many traditional Cumbrian villages that dot the Eden Valley. The surrounding farmland offers a pretty rural landscape away from the hustle and bustle of busier, more westerly Cumbria. Local villages offer hospitable inns, fabulous local bakeries, tea rooms and independent shops and craft outlets.
This is an area enjoyed by walkers and cyclists, with the coast-to-coast path close by with routes for all abilities literally from the door.
A short run out offers the Northern Lake District with Lake Ullswater and the market towns of Keswick and Penrith well worth a visit. The North Pennines offers unspoilt landscapes and one of the country’s highest market towns. The views from the summit on the drive up are well worth the climb. The flying club at Kirkland and the fishing lakes at Blencarn are close by. The Cumbrian towns of Appleby and Kirkby Stephen are again within easy reach and offer a good mix for all including historic buildings, good selection of cafés, pubs and restaurants, and plenty of independent retailers.

Wonderful Gem

A truly lovely CL
Grange Court is a truly lovely CL. Starting with a very friendly and helpful welcome from Suzie. The ptiches are beautifully maintained, despite lambs visting the outfits staying. It is in great position for cycling on fairly quiet, albeit undulating, roads.

JUST PERFECT
We have just had the most brilliant 8 days at Grange Court, Cliburn. What a perfect site ! A Welcome Return
After the long delay while the Covid restrictions were in place it was wonderful to return to Grange Court and the usual stunning welcome from Suzanne and Andrew, this has to be the most idyllic site anywhere, wonderfully peaceful with great views and super sunsets, handy for the Lake District... Great site for touring and stopover
This is a super CL - very tidy and well kept. Owner very friendly and helpful. Only snag at the time of our visit (June '21) was access as advised was compromised by roadworks causing diversions on roads not really fit for towing caravans. Perhaps owner could have advised... Show more
