Launceston, located to the west of the River Tamar, is a town steeped in history. Once Cornwall's capital, there are remnants of the town's significance still standing today, including the remains of the defensive wall that once protected it, and a gatehouse that dates back to the 14th century.
Whether it's exploring the town's Norman castle or taking a stroll along the narrow streets to browse independent shops, visitors will not be short of things to do.
