Les Ormes, Domaine and Resort (B08) in Brittany has a wide range of facilities, offering visitors access to an equestrian centre, golf course, six bars/restaurants, cable water-skiing, a zip wire, tree adventure course, climbing wall, archery, foot golf, crazy golf, fishing, tennis, paintball and more! There are also numerous swimming pools on site as well as a new indoor aquatic dome housing slides, a children’s pool, a lazy river and wave pool.
With so much on offer in the resort, you may never need to leave, although there is plenty to do nearby if you wish to explore. Mont St Michel is within 30 minutes’ drive, as is Dinan with its old stone houses and waterside restaurants. Closer to the site, Dol de Bretagne has an interesting cathedral and is the centre of some Breton legends.
Another site in Brittany, L’Orangerie de Lanniron (B21), features the new 'Trampoforest' attraction – which includes treetop trampolines. The site, set within the grounds of a château, is also home to an aqua park and nine-hole golf course.
Children will also find plenty to do, with a huge pool complex, mini-golf and kids’ clubs to enjoy. The sandy beaches and rocky coves at Bénodet are also close by; visit Saint-Gilles beach for a sport of rock pooling.
You might also like Les Alicourts (L22), which is set in a forest in the Loire Valley and has a private lake where you can try paddleboarding, kayaking or water skiing. If you prefer to stay on land you can relax on the sandy lakeside beach or play volleyball, mini-golf, table tennis, tennis, archery or golf.
This large, resort-style site is ideal for families seeking an active break and also offers a spa centre and restaurant. Should you wish to explore the area, the site is a little over an hour away from some of the more popular châteaux in the area - such as Cheverny and Chambord.
