On the edge of Durham city centre, Durham Grange Club Campsite is near Beamish and is great for cyclists, walkers and fishing with the River Wear close by. If you're looking for caravan sites to tour across County Durham, consider stopping at Teesdale Barnard Castle Club Campsite, which has nearby coarse fishing points along the River Tees as well as local walking and cycling routes. Located in between the North Pennines AONB and the Yorkshire Dales, the site also offers more adventurous walking and cycling routes just a short drive away.

On the west side of the county is White Water Park Club Campsite, located right on the River Tees in Middlesbrough. The site is located with easy access into the city centre and just a 20-minute drive to the coast. Plus, it's next to an international standard water sport venue for white water canoeing and rafting.
