With its incredible mountains, waterfalls, castles and lochs, the Scottish Highlands are definitely worth the drive. Inverness, the area's largest city, is home to stunning architecture, markets and art galleries.
- If you fancy some thrilling outdoor fun you can visit Cairngorm Mountain, about an hour's drive from the site. With mountain biking trails, mountain carting and a tubing park.
- For a day out further afield, visit the stunning Dunrobin Castle. Watch the falconry display then tour the museum and gardens. Approximately 1.5hrs drive from the site, you could stop to explore the Black Isle on your way.
- The atmospheric Culloden Battlefield and museum is a must for those interested in Scottish history.
