Why stay here ...

This site, on the outskirts of El Rocio, sits on the edge of the Parque Nacional de Doñana, renowned for its bird watching opportunities and wildlife. It has a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, and the pitches are well-sized and separated by hedges, with shade from trees through most of the year. The facilities are fairly limited and include a pool, shop and restaurant, which serves dishes prepared with local produce.

A visit here would not be complete without a trip to Seville, the capital of the Andalucia region. It’s renowned for the stunning architecture of its Gothic cathedral and palaces, as well as its Moorish influences and – more recently – excellent Flamenco shows. To the west is the beautiful city of Huelva, inhabited since 3000 BC.

Wild West

Excellent campsite next door to the fascinating town of El Rocio, seen in some Wild West cowboy films. Also on a beautiful lagoon, which was dry when we were there, but apparently very good for birding in the Spring when there is water in the lagoon.

Wasted visit

Sorry to say can't see why people like this site it's a dry dust wasteland the road in the site is a dirt road full of potholes. It is no good if you want to visit Seville as it is 50 Miles away. There's... Show more

What a find

Campsite easy to find with coordinates. Warm welcome at reception even though we arrived fairly late in the day. Good pitches, although they are back to back which does not leave a lot of room between you and your neighbour. The electricity has to be connected by... Show more

A Great Find

Just loved this place. Site itself is easy to get to, well laid out, excellent facilities, we were there between Christmas and New Year so 17 degrees by day, cool at night. The ablutions block were spacious and clean but quite cold, you had to pick your time to take... Show more

Good for a stop over

Stayed here for one night in September and I am so glad we did. Check in was easy and the pitch was ample. The pool was nice as was the bar. The restaurant looked ok but we did not fancy the menu so gave it a miss. The town is... Show more

Quirky but great

As the previous review states El Rocio is unusual. The site is good, shop and menus are basic but opening hours are fine, so are the pitches and pool. Toilet blocks cleaned at least twice a day and good. Hermitage and nature reserve are worth a visit and... Show more

Quirky Rocio!

Site well organized, facilities good, restaurant - menu of the day basic but good value in April. Rocio bonkers!! Ghost town during the week - shut on Mondays!! Wild at weekends. Shrine and natural park worth a visit.

Worth a diversion

Our 2nd time here this time for 2 nights early April.  The campsite is easy to get to, dual carriage way most of the way.  It is flat with hedged pitches but at this time of year no shade as the trees had no leaves, temperatures can get into the... Show more

3 nights in March

A pleasant site, a bit barren in March but with good clean facilities. The restaurant just outside the site was ok even if we were the only ones in the place. Rocio is weird. Sand streets, horse riders riding around, not a tourists mock up of a western town... Show more
