Why stay here ...

This conveniently located site near the western coast of Portugal, is an ideal location for families and winter sun seekers. The city of Porto which is only 18km away is steeped in history, with lots of ancient houses, narrow cobbled streets and baroque buildings to view. It’s also renowned for its port cellars, with many port tasting tours available for visitors to sample local vintages. There is a bus service from the campsite entrance which reaches Porto in around 75 minutes.

The pitches are shaded by trees, of which some are on a slope and there are various facilities including a restaurant which serves local Portuguese cuisine that is also popular with locals. There are a number of pitches on site used as seasonal or even permanent set up for local residents, and these may not be as well maintained as standard pitches. The site is also a short walk from the golden sands of Praia Azul, which is popular with both families and surfers.

Very large campsite with lovely pool

We stayed here for 3 nights in September as part of a 22 night tour of northern Spain and Portugal. We arrived late having stopped in Braga to break our journey. This is a large site and we were told to go on foot to look for a free pitch... Show more

Angeiras Aug 3rd 2024 for 4 Nights

Should have paid more attention to the site description. "Difficult access for outfits over 6.5" metres. Our caravan is just over 7 metres. Almost impossible to navigate when trying to find a vacant pitch. Steep descents and hills on dirt tracks. Had to unhitch and proceed on motor mover twice... Show more

Disappointing.....

Staff are very helpful but the site is in need of some TLC..... The pitches are on multi levels & accessing the shower blocks is not always on a level path which could be a problem for people with mobility issues.... however, they were clean. There are what I can describe as... Show more

Good site for Porto

Read previous reviews and while not disagreeing with comments I quite liked this site. Their are clearly designated pitches. The toilets are clean. The bar and restaurant are good and the staff very friendly and helpful. Easy walk to beaches and to many great seafood restaurants. Town not the prettiest... Show more

a Winter Week by the Sea

We stayed here for a week in February 2019. (Older couple) It only rained once during while we were there. It was pleasantly warm during the day although chilly at night. We were given a wide choice of pitches and opted for one on the upper level of the site.... Show more

Stayed here to visit Porto

We are a family of 4 and stayed here for three nights. Our children enjoyed the pool; the coastline (5 min walk away) is attractive but there were not many people in the sea possibly as the water was cold and it was windy. Local village lively in the evening... Show more

A Disappointing Experience

First be clear that the Restaurant and the Swimming pool are adjacent to this site and not part of it. The restaurant reminded us of Fawlty Towers (Architect Designed??). It caters primarily for 'Pilgrims' on the Santiago trail. The food is dreadful, and 'Manuel' the waiter... Show more

Handy for a visit to Porto

Reception was easy, the lady spoke good English. Nice looking pool although we did not use it. Nice enough bar with a restaurant attached. Great seafood available at the restaurants in the local town, do not miss it. Bus service available from right outside the site to take you into the... Show more
