The site is set on the outskirts of the city of Nürnberg and situated only 6 kms from the motorway. It is opposite the National Exhibition centre and with only a 20 minute walk through its grounds, you can get the U Bahn into the historical old town.
Nürnberg is the second largest city in Bavaria and it's steeped in history. There are lots of beautiful typical timber framed buildings, cobbled streets and a gothic church dating back to 1250. This mediaeval walled city will not fail to charm you, you can walk around the 14th century walls and soak up the beautiful views of Nürnberg and its surroundings.
The Nürnberg Zoo is only 2.5kms from the site and open all year with 2000 animals in a natural setting. The Nicolaus Copernicus Planetarium, several museums including the rally ground once used by the socialist party and a local brewery tour are other options to experience. Alternatively climb up to the Castle and visit the royal residence dating back to 1050 and enjoy the views.
The site itself is a pleasant short stay site with grassy pitches and heated sanitary facilities during the winter months.
The onsite team has tourist information at reception and are happy to help you with a map to the U Bahn station and local information on everything to do whilst you are staying with them.
